How we write, check and correct the guides on this site, and how the images on it may be used.

What we hold ourselves to

Four rules behind every guide

  • 01

    A named author

Every guide shows who wrote it in the byline. Our team page introduces the people behind the work.

  • 02

    Primary sources

We work from the original source: the agency, the court rule, the platform documentation or the study itself.

  • 03

    Real client data

Case studies use numbers from our clients’ own analytics and Search Console accounts, never invented examples.

  • 04

    Open corrections

When something is wrong, we fix it and show the date the guide was updated.

From draft to published

How a guide gets on this site

  1. Research

We start from the question a law firm actually asks, then gather the primary sources that answer it.

  2. Write

We write for attorneys and their teams, in plain language, with the steps and figures they need to act on it.

  3. Check every figure

Each statistic is checked against its source and linked to it, so readers can verify it themselves.

  4. Publish with a date

The guide goes live with its author and publication date in the byline.

  5. Revisit

When search changes or a source is revised, we update the guide and show the new date.

Sourcing

What counts as a source

We cite

  • Government agencies and their published guidance
  • State bar guidance and court rules
  • Platform documentation, such as Google Search Central
  • Named research reports and studies
  • Data from our own client accounts, in case studies

We never cite

  • AI-generated answers and summaries
  • Wikipedia, which we use only to find the original source
  • Content farms without named, accountable authors
